Speech-Language Pathology

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at the Medical Center of South Arkansas is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with communication and/or swallowing disorders. Our staff of licensed, ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologists have expertise in a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders.

Individuals with speech, language, memory, cognitive and swallowing impairments receive comprehensive evaluation, and when indicated, individually designed treatment and education. Modified barium swallow studies for the diagnosis and management of swallowing disorders are provided in cooperation with the radiology staff. Services are available on a contract basis and to inpatients, outpatients and home healthcare patients. The Speech-Language Pathology staff is committed to the highest quality of care as demonstrated by our emphasis on maintaining a staff with excellent clinical skills rendered with compassion and respect for our clients.
