Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

Rehabilitation is a medical specialty which helps restore people affected by potentially disabling disease or traumatic injury to good health and functional, productive lives and also helps minimize physical or cognitive disabilities.

The Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit of Medical Center of South Arkansas utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach under the direction of neurologist Shailesh Vora, MD. The other members of this specialized team are physical and occupational therapists and their aides/assistants, speech and language pathologists, rehabilitation nurses, and nurses’ aides who all work with patients to restore the greatest level of function or independence. The rehab team helps individuals overcome obstacles and accomplish normal tasks of daily living.
